Aim:
To raise awareness of safer sex and its negotiation
Objectives:
By the end of the course participants will:
- be aware of the risk of contracting HIV and other sexually transmitted infections through sexual activity
- be able to define safer sex
- have considered the comparative risks of different sexual activities
- have practised the skills involved in negotiating safer sex
- have examined the messages we receive about sex and sexuality
- have explored how these messages can increase or reduce the risk of contracting HIV and other sexually transmitted infections
- have practised the skills necessary to use condoms correctly
