Aim:
To develop the necessary skills and knowledge to provide quality training.
Objectives:
By the end of the course participants will:
- understand a number of theories of learning
- have considered various approaches to, and models of, training
- understand the role of training within organisations
- know a number of methods of assessing training needs
- be able to set aims and objectives to meet the identified needs
- be able to plan a training course which achieves the aims and objectives
- be equipped with the necessary skills to deliver the training course
- know a range of methods of evaluating training
Course Duration:
This is usually a ten day course divided into three modules:
- Module 1 – Four days
- Module 2 – Three days
- Module 3 – Three days
We suggest a space of at least two weeks between modules.
About the Course:
The course will be informal and participatory in nature. It will involve exercises and group work in pairs and small groups, as well as in the whole group. Group members will be asked to take part in discussions around the issues raised by exercises. The course will draw upon the experiences of the participants. The course will work towards participants planning and facilitating a small piece of training. Participants will be expected to undertake a small amount of work between modules.
